I got a copy of this Encyclopedia in a Forum of Books that was held by the National community. I own both a paperback copy and an eBook of the same version.
Overview:
The book is a sort of Psychological teaching guide, in another word, It's a textbook of how to get acquaintance with this mysterious science. First you face a small test of questions than they put you in the general background, you get an idea of how psychology works, than at the end of each chapter you will find the answers of the questions, In fact you will encounter the History of Psychology and the changes that undergo that science, the major schools that emerge through the whole existence of psychology. The research methods are also stated, in addition to the changes that undergo children through there being in the adulthood. and the last is the social psychology which discusses the Interacting with other people.
Positive and Negative Aspects:
The book is a sort of separated chapters, Each discusses a certain aspect of psychology, but the most inspiring manner that devote me, was the simple test that you take, and the last result that you have when you finish the chapter. In other words, the Encyclopedia is a Stimuli-Response relation between the Reader and the contributors. The Language used is a simple English with some addition of the science vocabulary, but the reader will generally grasp the meaning intended.
My Personal Reaction:
This Self Teaching guide was my first getaway to get in touch with the Science of Psychology. I benefit from it a lot, It really helped me to understand that mysterious science, in relation with the self and with society as well. Besides, I really acquire a method that will help me to overcome the teaching difficulties, but anyway, I have to strengthen my knowledge so much with this Science discipline.
Recommendations:
I simply recommend this book to all the folks who want to get knowledge of this Science, in addition to the new student who intended to get deep in the Knowledge of Psychology. But I may say that so much Psychology may drive crazy soon enough, Just pay attention.
