Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Disclosure:
I would reveal that this edition shown at the top is one of my Favorites. In fact I take free from any charges. In English language with a nice quality of writing.
My Plot:
The whole story in this book was just a dream that Alice had when she was taking care of her small sister. In fact she saw a small rabbit running in the hill and looking for something that he lost, the Rabbit was hasty. Thus Alice followed him on the whole, to reach a very weird world. she found a Glass table with a Key, a Bottle saying "drink me" and again found a cake saying "eat me" all these choices were just for the sake to make her shrink and enter the small door to the most beautiful Garden. but her fail was a cause that allows her to meet certain creatures. She first met the mouse who asked him about her cat who had been lost in this wonder world. but this last question gave Alice the chance to make acquaintances with the creatures there. In fact she spent a good time with the wise mouse who start talking to them about William the Conqueror, but the rabbit showed up again. She followed him to meet another certain eccentric creatures including the Lizard the Griffin the Torture and so on and so forth. But the most eccentric one was the queen of the hearts, who rules the most beautiful land but she was the most rude one. Each time saying to her guards "off with his head" to anyone would made a minor error in her presence. After all that Alice awake from her dream to see that her sister was sitting near her and it was almost sunset. Alice feel the joy of her dream in this wonderland.
Positive and Negative Aspects:
In fact the story was somehow intended to be read by young children who are still in the way of learning things. Personally we grown up from reading this child's stories. In fact Alice stands for the person who always love to discover and search for eccentric matters. Giving the Human values and qualities to animals and weird creatures was something very funny besides, it was a nice attempt to express the point of view of the writer through the creatures she creates. As then the story was meant for fun not for discussion.
My Personal Reaction:
I was fond of the writings of Lewis Carroll, in fact all her writings are empty from indirect attempts to criticize or to mock, in fact all her writings including this Novel I am reviewing now are very simple and clear to the most extent. I really enjoy reading it especially in the nights with the silence. Actually it worths being read again soon. especially for the purpose to enjoy the wisdom and the knowledge that every creature has inside the stories.
Recommendations:
Of course everybody would wonder who could read this book but simply I would say that anyone would read it, especially those new learners of British English. I am sure that they will get familiar with the English cultural components. I really admit that it's nice to read it.
