Review of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

A Christmas Carol A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Disclosure:
I would like to admit that I have an electronic form of this book in PDF I find it enjoyable so much and I decide to have it in my Kindle soon enough.

My Plot:
Since all Charles Dickens's book are realistic, there is no doubt that it will let a touch in the Heart of the Reader, In fact it was all about a Man called Scrooge. Scrooge was a busy business man who spent all his time in saving money, the story begin with telling the reader that Scrooge's friend Jacob Marley was died seven years ago, and the time at which the story begin was the Christmas before night. Scrooge was in office finishing some works, when his nephew came wishing him a merry Christmas, Scrooge considers Christmas as a silly celebration and refuses his nephew compliments, the same happens when the two money collectors came to his office for some humanistic share, by getting out from the office he spoke to his worker Bob Cratchit by giving him a day off during Christmas. Scrooge went home to spend the holiday alone without celebrating the Christmas, on the same night the Ghost of his ex-partner Jacob Marley came visiting him to warn Scrooge that there is three ghosts who will visit him in the Next nights starting from 1 hour before the midnight, The First Ghost came and took him to the past Christmases of his Childhood, the second one came to take him the present Christmases, and the last was the horrible one who showed him his future Christmases and the death that follow him. in fact Scrooge soul came to be changed when he wake up the next morning, he was very enthusiast in helping people so he was utmost happy when he discover that it was the day of Christmas, he decided to buy a turkey and send it to his clerk Bob who was in a big difficult situation, after getting to his nephews home to celebrate the Christmas together. and thus was the finish of the story.

The Positive and Negative aspects:
It was all a story of learning from the times, it was a nice and enjoying story of a person who taught that life is counted by saving money and living as poor as possible for the sake to have more, in fact it is fable that gives a warning to all the same scrooges of this time. The positive aspects inside this nice story lays on the nature of the events held inside the Book. It was a nice depiction and a clever exposure of a social disease that the English society suffer from, besides it was a nice attempt to make the irreligious person complete his belief and change according the social norms, Scrooge held the position of the Business man who consider life as a business and that everything belongs to his life is nothing but a commercial activity. Personally it was an attempt to combine between the spiritual and the material sides of life. Concerning the negatives, I would say that nothing stands against this nice story.

My Personal Reaction:
I would admit that I interfere with the writer's point of view, especially when it comes to the Business life criticism, I agree that the whole world forget his roots, nowadays everything is Business nothing held for the social part or for charity, Humans follow money till they blind their souls. It was the best that I've ever heard in Dickens literature. Personally I would say that Charles Dickens writing fell more on the spiritual and humanistic life of the characters than the Materialist side.

Recommendation:
I recommend this book to all the audience since it contains no harm in reading it. the Whole story discusses normal matters and sides that everyone has a knowledge about it. I recommend it also to those who hate the business life like me.
